However, it fails to work with many of the older models, including some Canon 5D iterations. EOSInfo is compatible with many cameras, such as the Canon 5D Mark II, 50D, 450D, 60D, and 70D. I would rather buy a camera that looks like new and has been used only in a studio with 100,000 shots on it, than one that looks beat-up with 10,000 shots on it. Start in the menu with AF tab 3 USM lens. The camera does have the ability to indicate when focus is achieved over a certain point during manual focus, but only if all of the correct settings that affect the display are selected. This allows you to pull detail out of the shadows with a lot less noise than with the 'stock' firmware. There are many settings on the Canon 5D mark III that affect what you see and when you see it in the viewfinder. Their latest creation, Dual ISO, increases the dynamic range of the 5D Mark III and EOS 7D by four stops, bringing the total dynamic range to 14EV. I use a utility by Dire Studio called 'Shutter Count' that runs on my mac and it displays the shutter count for most Canon bodies. Off the top of my head I didn’t know a specific answer, but I was aware that Canon makes it tricky and it would most likely involve using some third-party software. I had an email come in from a reader asking if I knew how to find out the shutter count for a Canon 5D Mark III.
